So, let's be straight here - the player hasn't apologised to the player he cheated and got sent off, he hasn't apologised to his club or his club's fans for cheating, he hasn't apologised to the referee and his assistants for cheating and he hasn't apologised to Scottish football for cheating.
Yet Kyle Lafferty did all of those things after he cheated.
Why did Lafferty feel the need to apologise, but Fyvie doesn't? Is it a simple case of Lafferty having moral standards far and above those of Fyvie? Or was Lafferty forced to apologise by his club, therefore showing they have standards of behaviour far and above those of Hibs, or was it a managerial decision to make Lafferty apologise - which would mean Walter Smith has far higher moral standards than Stubbs.
Whichever way you look at it, Fyvie, Stubbs and Hibs have made themselves look amateurish in their acceptance of the player cheating a fellow professional - they backed him right up until he was found guilty of cheating - and they've treated Scottish football with contempt in doing so.
Hibs, Stubbs and Fyvie have let Kyle Lafferty tutor them about class, and that's about as damning an indictment as you can get.
