Its not a defence, but it's always worth mentioning to highlight how hypocritical and one-sided the discourse on the subject of sectarianism is. It's also handy for demonstrating to some of those who shout loudest that their arguments are based not in a sense of decency, but in their own bigotry. And ignorance or selective definitions are no excuse for use of a term with particular connotations. I doubt you'd think it was fine to go around calling people 'xxxx' just because the word itself is derived purely from an earlier word' neger', meaning black. 'Hun is a prejudiced and sectarian term - use it as you see fit.
