At half time Wakey was complaining how boring Town's play was. I said I'll take boring every week if we win. And hey, we won! At the time, I thought the pen decision was as clear-cut as anything, but on the Football League Show it looked a bit soft. Mind you, we have had so many stone-wall penalty appeals turned down this season, I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. And I can't even remember when we last had a penalty taker you could be confident would score them... it's nice.
We were much better in the second half and with Scanz and Holt we really looked like we could do something. As for the boring bit - Powell has clearly identified that our leaky defence needs a lot of shoring up, and he's right. Mind you, playing a whole team of defenders didn't seem to help when you look at their goal and how easy it was for them.
Holt was a real tonic for the jaded supporter when he came on. Just what we need to play up front with Wells. Don't know if he can last a whole game or not but he's going to be very valuable to us if he can.
Is Peltier turning into as bad a sick-note as Vaughan?
