In the last two years Cheltenham Town (The Robins).
Started to go regularly towards the end of last season and witnessed their desperate struggles to avoid relegation to the National League; all to no avail.
They released every single player bar one who couldn't find another Club and took the brave decision to stay professional rather than go part time. They signed a complete new squad during the close season and the lads have gradually gelled together.
They are presently second in the league having lost only two league matches so far.
They are excellent defensively (usually) but struggle to put chances away and hence most matches remain close and thus tense for us fans. I am amazed at how evenly matched most National League teams are and The Robins, who played a lot of hoofball last season are now, under the guidance of Gary Johnson, playing decent on the deck football.
One young player they released last season was a Portuguese right back called Jombati.
He's now playing for Wycombe Wanderers and scored a stunning goal for them in last weekend's FA Cup first round.
He played one-twos with a couple of team mates before letting fly from 20 yards. (Check it out).
One worry is that our 20 year old goalkeeper Dillon Phillips is only on loan from Charlton until January.
If he has to go back can we please loan one from the Baggies as hopefully Ben will be fit again by then.
It's great being able to park no more than 100 yards from the ground as I have severe walking problems over any real distance.
My last visit to the shrine was when Shane Long scored the winner in a 2-1 victory over Bolton.
The walk to and from the Station nearly creased me and the leg pains almost ruined the match for me.
It's amazing just how many teams in the National League have played in the past at a higher level and with only one automatic promotion place available it's going to be a bit of a bugger to get out.

Some days I'm top dog, most days I'm just the lamp post.
