MOVING FORWARD!
In many ways it was a non-event of a match. We put in a classic away performance against a decent team but just failed to score to goal to make it a perfect smash & grab raid.
All the talk will be about the referee. As at Wigan the other year, this referee failed to send off a player for a clear red card offence. His positioning was poor but surely an assistant could have seen it. Mark Halsey, former PL referee & QPR fan, said it was a clear red card. He also added that we should have had a penalty & QPR a second red card when Konchesky fouled Joao.
CC made seven changes. We never looked quite as dominant in midfield as usual without Lee & Hutchinson. QPR pretty much only created half chances and our defence looked pretty secure. Wallace replaced Sougou after that foul and Joao replaced Forestieri at half time.
We looked more of a threat with Joao on the pitch and his pace should have won us a penalty. Nuhiu works hard but he does't pose any goal threat.

We showed the strength of squad by making seven changes and still nearly getting the win although we are not quite the same side without Hutchinson & Lee in midfield.
We have to go again on Friday & we will need our best team to beat a Rotherham side with the benefit of New Manager Syndrome.

The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.
