The two top teams in the American League go head to head for the right to play the National League Champions in the World (sic) Series Final.
The Jays are the top scorers by some distance in North American baseball, with 891 regular season runs. The nearest to them being the New York Yankees with 764 followed by Texas Rangers on 751. The Royals had 724 runs but they had the best record in the American League (95 wins, Jays 93 wins) only bettered by St. Louis with 100 wins in the National League.
The Royals play at the Kaufmann Stadium, The Jays at The Rogers Centre (or Skydome, the inspiration behind the arches that hold up the stand roofs at the McGalphSmiths) in the shadow of the CN Tower.

Friday night- it's Game On!
Game 1. The Royals kept the Jays bats quiet on Friday night and ran out deserved 5-0 winners in the opening game.
Game 2. 3-0 up in the 6th and having restricted the Royals to 1 hit in 6 innings, the Blue Jays went into full blown Blow Jays mode in the 7th, conceding 5 unanswered runs followed by another in the 8th to cough the game up on a plate. Er, Home Plate to be exact. Still no home runs.
Game 3. Back at home the Jays big guns came out firing. 3 runs in the second and six in the 3rd gave them a 9-2 lead. 10-4 after 5 innings, 11 after 8, the Royals had a mini rally for 4 runs in the 9th to make the score respectable. 3 home runs in this one for the Jays.
Game 4. Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! The Royals carried on where they left off in the 9th innings of game 3. Straight off the first pitch they were plundering base hits and the runs followed. 4 in the first another in the second. They briefly gave the jays a sniff with 2 runs to be 2-5 up by the 5th, but then knocked in another 9 runs in the last 3 innings to reverse the rout from the night before. The Jays now need to win all 3 remaining games
to make it to the World Series Final. The Royals scored the only home runs and they don't count in the assault on my wallet.
In the "Back to The Future Series" in the National League, the Cubbies now need to win all 4 remaining games against the Noo Yark Mets, otherwise Marty and Doc won't see them in the World Series Final either. The team from Florida they saw in the final never even got close.
Game 5. The Jays live to die another day. Opening pitcher Estrada kept the Royals bats quiet in this one and the bull pen finished them off this time. Tulowitzki cleared the bases with a 3 run shot but only made it to 2nd base himself as 4 runs in the 6th made it 5-0. Two more insurance runs in the 7th and 8th including a solo homer answered by a solo home run in the 8th from the Royals wrapped up the scoring. Royals need 1 win, Jays need 2, last two games to be played at the Royals.
The Cubbies were swept in the National League 4-0 so the Mets can put their feet up while the Royals and Jays go toe-toe in the deciders.
Game 6. Despite two homers off the bat of Bautista, the Jays came up short in game 6, losing 4-3 and Kansas head to the World Series against the Mets. The Jays head for the golf courses down south. It was a blast while it lasted.
A guide to cask ale.
