I still wouldn't say we're worlds apart though, we have great players that generally under perform IMO. Not to mention we only manage to get a stage or two further than them before we're quickly out of our depth.
They're nobodies who try, we're somebodies that choke a lot
Hopefully that's a thing of the past and times are changing with new blood.
I'd like to see some under dogs have a pop and make a name for themselves
I know you were!

If any championship is going to throw up a surprise it's this one. Greece, Denmark, Czechoslovakia and Russia have all surprisingly won it in the past, so you never know!!
As regards Scotland, I would say we are worlds apart currently though. In the past they always had a few players that would make the England squad, the likes of Dalglish, Hansen and Souness were bordering on world class, but it has been a long time since they have had any players of that quality and the current squad looks to me to be as weak as they have had for a long time.
England currently have another crop of good young players with bags of potential who should be at least reach the semis but I do worry that Roy will not let them play the way they want to and that will probably stifle them once again. I cannot understand why good managers become so gun shy when they get the England job and become too defensive. One day we will recognize that the England team needs to play to the strengths of the players currently available instead of making the players fit the England system. The manager does not have enough time with the players to change what they do day in, day out at their clubs, let them do what they are good at and pick the best players for each position.
