Shame we could not get more goals but I guess Stoke parked the bus, I don't know, just guessing?

They certainly defended doggedly, but we spent the second half playing at the slowest tempo imaginable and finishing off most moves with a poor pass or cross which they mopped up without difficulty.  A couple of times in the second half they left themselves open to a potential counterattack, but instead of hitting them quickly and intelligently, we instead hoofed the ball straight to the one man they had back on the halfway line.  Really, really turgid stuff from us.

The result's just what we needed, but I never seen a team huff and puff so much against nine men.
