I was thinking Alvin Stardust for some reason, but I couldn't think of anyone else called Stardust who's played for Albion.
I was thinking Dennis Clarke for this latest devilish question, but it's not him. He was the first sub to be used in an FA Cup final and he was only 20. And he's from Stockton on Tees.

No the first sub used by Albion was not Clarke.

It may (or not) help if I tell you that the player concerned was also the first sub used by us in a FA Cup game.
And the player he replaced in the Cup game was the first sub used in a League Cup game some 3 years later.

Any ideas on who the 'super-sub' was?
