Ballance might be dropped to the second eleven after his performance today but Lyth could soon be back in the first team.

On a serious note, the 2nd XI fooked up with Ballance by trying to make him into a number 3 batsman when Trott couldn't hack it anymore   Remember when they tried to make Root into an opener  Ballance is a 5 or 6 that can plod along holding the tail together or smash it about a bit when required   He has a better cricketing brain than Stokes or Buttler in that position  and he was dropped while out-performing Bell   who looks to have had his day. Father Time catches up with the best of players.
