My Dad used to want to get away 5 mins before the end so he would beat the traffic but me and my brother always said no!!  I don't think I have ever actually left a game before the end but you do see fans doing it every game.

There's less traffic if you just make sure you've got enough refreshments   to keep you going for about 20 minutes after the game and just sit where you are and wait for it to die down a bit  It's always been my take on it
