I followed TerrierTim's link and discovered the following:-
"NEWS: End of an era on Friday at one of Huddersfield's best-known hostelries, The King's Head, next door to Huddersfield Rail Station. The popular snug, immediately to the right of the entrance has been taken down as part of the £200,000 renovations undertaken by landlord Bruce Travis."
followed by
"Police are appealing for information after a man suffered serious facial injuries following an assault in Huddersfield town centre."
Has someone thumped the pub landlord just because the pub will be shut for a couple of days? Sad state of affairs if these stories are linked.
Nice pub but I only go there two or three times a season when we do a train trip rather than a car trip but nowt wrong with the ale on offer.
So what does this have to do with our goalie issue? We've goalies coming out of our goolies. Last time I looked we had at least 4 or 5 of them with squad numbers. How many more do we need? Smithies gone to QPR? Pffffttt. Far more trivial than a proper pub being shut for a day or two. Come on lads n lasses, get your priorities sorted ffs. We need a centre forward that knows where t'onion bag is, or one that can show t'rest of 'em where it is like Gr'olt did last season, not another bloody goalie. Get that sorted please Mr. 'oyle. Gr'olt back on loan wouldn't be a bad move. It would piss Wigan off big time if we send him back broken again but hey, there's a lot worse out there.
Anyone want the Hull keeper on loan? Two days after supposedly signing a 250 grand deal with a glove company he apparently can't catch a cold let alone an easy cross. Fit right in with us he would.
OK, maybe not then.
