What's the plan?

It does have a similar pattern each season, although we did start well under Grayson in our 1st season back in the Championship. There is something about the club though and negativity has become the 'norm'.

We had plenty of ambition to get into this division and spent a lot of money to make it happen. However, now we are in the Championship, we don't seem to have any further ambition. I get that Deano has put a lot of money into the club but he's also not had a bad return from the player sales either. We all know that owners of football clubs don't get into it to make a shed load of money - they want the glory!

I don't want this to be a post about Dean Hoyle but does he have the same passion and ambition as when he took over? I don't think he has and maybe he is happy with scraping relegation every season or flirting with a mid table finish? This lack of ambition though I think shows in the lack of quality on the pitch and is keeping fans away. We wont get any more fans back through the door without more ambition and investment. This can only come from Dean Hoyle, or he needs to sell up.

Powell is probably doing what he can with what he's got and I'm almost coming around to the fact that this is the best we can hope for. We might put in the odd great performance once in a while, pick up some draws and just about stay in this division. I know we are not the biggest club in the Championship but with the right investment and fans through the doors then there is no reason why we cant be pushing for that top 6. We could easily get 16,000 - 17,000 home fans every home game with a good team. Hell, we had more bloody fans in League 1 and that speaks volumes about 'where we are'!

We are a millions miles away from where we should and could be. I understand that Hoyle's head is in the right place and wants the club to be self sufficient. But, is that at the expense of having a team we can be proud of and playing at the top level of at least the Championship? As is stands, we could easily be self sufficient but we will see ourselves in the lower leagues.
In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure
