WOLVES v HUDDERSFIELD TOWN......WED 1st OCTOBER.....K.O 19:45

SEASON SO FAR
Town come into this game after a pretty rubbish start to the season. Only 2 wins in the first 9 games with 2 draws leaves us feeling sorry for ourselves in 20th  place on 8 points.
We have also conceded 19 goals.....the 2nd worst defence in the league.....only 1 goal better off than Fulham with 20 goals.
Our first win came away at Reading....which is the team Wolves played on Sunday...when they came away with a 3-3 draw.
Our other win was a moral boosting 2-1 win over Millwall on Saturday....with Nihki Nahki Wells getting both goals.
New signing Grant Holt had a great 30 mins or so...holding up the ball well and showing some real fight.
And also fast becoming the first name on the team sheet...Harry Bunn....was named man of the match again. This boy is a real talent that is improving game by game.
Surely we must head into this game with a bit more confidence.....which according to most players/coaches/managers is a massive plus in football.

Newly promoted Wolves are on an impressive run of form just now. They lie in 3rd place on 18 points after 5 wins and only 1 defeat...a surprising away loss to Rotherham. They have only scored 2 more goals than Town this season....however it is their miserly defence that is the star of the show - only letting in 6 goals in 9 games.
Their manager Kenny Jackett, has tailored his team to suit his style. The flare and blazering action of his team means he doesn't need to vent at them much.

PREVIOUS HISTORY
This fixture is evenly matched down the years. They have played each other 70 times....with both teams winning 29 times and drawing 12.
At Molineux, Wolves have won 19 and Town only 8 with 8 draws.
2 seasons ago...the year they were relegated, Town did the double over Wolves...winning 2-1 at the McGalpharm Smith stadium....and winning impressively 3-1 at Molineux.

HISTORY, FACTS & FIGURES
St Luke's were formed in 1877...later becoming Wolverhampton Wanderers in 1879 after merging with The Wanderers local cricket team.
Wolves are founder members of the Football League in 1888 and have the honour of playing the first ever Football League game (v Aston Villa).
They also have the honour of contesting (and losing to Spurs) in the first ever UEFA Cup Final in 1972.
They are one of only 3 clubs to have won the championship in all 4 levels of English league football.
The others being *** can you work it out? Answer at the bottom of this thread.
They have won the FA Cup 4 times and the League Cup twice....making them the only team in English football to have won all 6 recognised major domestic trophies.
They have played at Molineux since 1889 where the name originated from the Molineux House built in the area by Benjamin Molineux, a local merchant. It's a good job he wasn't called Crapper.

TRAVEL AND SUPPIN'
Away fans are normally housed in the lower tier of the Steve Bull Stand which runs along the East side of the pitch.
By Road:
The Molineux ground is located in Waterloo Road, Wolverhampton WV1 4QR.
Visitors arriving from the North should follow the M6 as far as junction 12, exiting onto the A5 towards Telford, joining the A449 for Wolverhampton. Turn right at the intersection with the ring road. The stadium is well signed from the 2nd set of lights onwards.
Fans driving from the South should exit the M6 at junction 10, following the A454 into Wolverhampton. Turn right on reaching the traffic island that intersects with the ring road and follow signage to the ground.

By Rail:
The train station is within ½ a mile and a 10-minute walk of the ground. On exiting the station, go straight on as far as the inner ring road. Turn right and follow the ring road. Molineux soon becomes visible on the right.

Pubs near Molineux
Molineux suffers insofar as there is no designated pub for away supporters near the ground. The numerous pubs around the ground tend to be designated “home fans only.” There are plenty of pubs in Wolverhampton town centre, but many of these do not welcome away fans. Reports suggest that visiting fans should keep colours covered and exercise great discretion in their choice of watering-hole for a pre-match drink.
