Pretty much our typical performance against City, minus the usual consolation goal. I liked the look of Lambert's free-kicks, though; unless you count Brunty's hugely deflected effort at Old Trafford last season, we haven't scored direct from a free-kick since Dozza against Stoke in January 2012, so it's great to have someone who looks sharp on that front again.
Otherwise, I think everyone else has covered the necessary ground: lost the fight in midfield, which is always fatal against Man City; Dawson needs to be back on the right, and Chester (or G-Mac) in the centre; and Gardner really had a night to forget.
Start again at Vicarage Road. Could do with at least a point to get that psychological boost, but Watford gave a really good account of themselves at Goodison and will be looking for the all-important home win. Let's just hope the thirty million Venezuelans who started supporting us at five o'clock tonight didn't think better of it by ten past eight
