Maybe. I remember them at the Leppings Lane end, but I was always facing them as I went on the Kop - before it had a roof on it, let alone seats -- when people stood to watch games.

I do remember when the first electronic scoreboard went up. Maybe mid 60s? Fans complained back then because they thought the money could have been better spent on new players. That's when we were a contending club in the old First Division.

some of my early games in the late 1960's were viewed from the south stand, and I'm sure I remember seeing these across the pitch around the half way line on the North stand as well... trying to guess what the second number was before it went up - that's brought back a load of memories of The Don, Fantham, Ford, et al
