It's nothing whatsoever to do with the royal family other than the Queen is the symbolic non-political head of state. The National Anthem of any country should and usually is, respected by anyone who has half a brain.
Obviously, this McClean fellow hasn't got that half a brain and one would presume, if there was a minutes silence held before kick-off and he didn't agree with it, he would be jumping around doing kick-ins. If we were playing an Irish side, would we be happy with our players disrespecting the Irish national anthem?
This man is a trouble maker and should be dumped by the club for bringing it into disrepute.
