Jesus, how over the top do some of our fans go? Firstly, politics and nationality should not come into club football one bit. National anthems aren't and shouldn't played before club matches and it is the fault of the clueless American's for that - it isn't like we were even representing England when only about 3 of the starting XI were English. McClean has every right to not wear a poppy and should not have even been in the position he was put in before the Charleston game.

What we should be worried about, however, is the fact that he is a player with limited ability and our pathetic transfer policy means that he is all we have managed to bring in for anything like a full pre-season. It won't matter how many people he has offended if we get relegated because we have an ageing squad and can't even compete with the promoted teams for transfers.
