Has he been a naughty boy in the past?

He refuses to wear a poppy due to the events of 'Bloody Sunday' occurring in his home town, he has also apparently declared his admiration for certain republican/pro-IRA songs.

There is a letter to Dave Whelan that he "wrote" back when he was at Wigan which explains his reasons for his decision not to wear a poppy and to be honest they are perfectly valid and acceptable - I can't find the link to it now as it was deleted during the shit-storm that went down on westbrom.com with people arguing over the signing.

I think any Albion fans with an ounce of common sense should be able to look past these issues as he is here to do a job, judge him on the football side of things.
