In general, we're pretty notorious for doing badly in the first game, no matter what division we're in or who we're playing.  Our record for the last twenty years (going backwards) has been DLWLLDLLWDDLLLLDDWL.  Three opening day wins in two decades is a bit of a shocker.

To be honest, I wouldn't mind starting on the road, maybe even to one of the big teams; get it out of the way nice and early, and there's even a chance you can catch them napping so early in the season.

We seem to have a decent chance of surprising them at any point of the season recently but yes anyone with a lot of new signings should be a bit more vulnerable at the start.

Anyone know Pulis' record at Stoke for strong/weak starts?
