I don't think it's amateurish at all. I think they kept him on, set up the committee and made a measured decision rather than a rash one!!  

The committee was in place 2 weeks before the end of the season and any decision should have been made then. Instead it's 5 weeks into pre-season and we have no manager and half a squad, the other half dont come back for training for 2/3 weeks so the new boss wont have time to look at his options.
