Lambert struggled at Villa but it was during a time when the chairman was not backing him with money.  He got Norwich promoted twice and then kept them in the Premier League before moving to Villa.  For me he definitely ticks most of the boxes!!

I agree about Lambert but I'd still go for the guy from Watford   he was their FIFTH ?? manager of the season and still managed to get them promoted  

Now I'm being cynical here, but he got them promoted with someone else's players!!  We definitely need someone who can operate in the committee and in the transfer market as we are short of a bunch of players.
