Great day!
Early start for me, we we're going to Wembley on a bus organised to meet at a local pub in the next village so it was agreed that a few pre-journey beers and a full English breakfast were required that morning, when we arrived 6/6:30 we were late....some had been there all night and a few were still fast asleep on the seats in the pub.
Pretty neat n eventful journey to Wembley and I can't really remember much about the build up to the game, I met my family(all had travelled by car) in the seating area in the upper section right behind the goal. It was nowhere near full but had enough to carry the atmosphere created from below, I remember the Rovers end looking pretty full and the majority wearing the BR colours of the day green and black, they had great support that day (35k?)
First half much of a blur until the final minutes, booth putting us 1 up and the joy being short lived thanks to Marcus stewart.
2nd half I seem to remember Rovers having chance after chance and us Hanging on to Chris Billy's goal, how we won that day is still beyond me.
More celebrations on the bus going home and back just in time for closing...except it didn't until about 2am after we'd all had a skinful of beer and watched the highlights on the telly cheering every Town pass and goal again
