IMO the whole point is that, having hired Pepe Mel, we (as a club, that is) should've backed him. His football philosophy, his language barrier, and his vision should ALL have been known and recognised by the board - that's why he was hired.
I still feel disappointed and embarrased by the way he was treated by our club; personally I think that, given a little time and a free hand to bring in the players that would (or could) play in his style, he'd have got us playing great football and we'd probably be sitting in about the same position as we are now.....but playing in a more WBA-type way.
We'll never know, of course, but it's great to see him doing so well again
