The precedent was set by L666s when Master Bates put them into administration at half-time in their last match when they were already relegated. Hence the FL and/or FA now has a policy of applying points deductions in the season when it will matter. In Blackpool's case, any game after their first 3 this season would have meant a points deduction would have been futile, so if they get one it will be at the start of next season. Had they been only flirting with relegation then they could have applied it to this season if they wanted to take enough points off them to send them down.
PS - they could also apply an additional deduction at the start of next season in the case of this scenario.
Snoots there will still be more sand on that pitch than the beach even at the start of the season. The Oyston's aren't going to invest in grass seed and equipment when they won't pay players more than 10 bob a week and a fish supper as a win bonus.
Anyway we normally play pre-season friendlies against top notch sides like Emley and Harrogate, we don't need to come down to that level. I know some of our fans like to sing that everywhere is a sh*thole ( they need to go to Specsavers) but Blackpool these days truly is. I'd still think twice even if they were paying me to go.
