Another poor game tonight between two poor sides and Smithies trying to waste time yet again to preserve a single home point, summed it all up for me. Town offered next to nothing going forward and it's easy to see why we've only picked up 4 points from our last 11 home matches, which is a disaster no matter which way you look at it.
7 goals scored in these 11 home games is also indicative of where the problem lies - a total lack of quality in our current bunch of forwards and a desperate need for some real Championship quality goalscorers. As for Wigan, they were no better than Town, although they could have very easily have pinched the points had they taken any of the three guilt edge chances they had.
So all in all, yet another disappointing match and little evidence to date that anything is likely to change in the short term.
