I see where you're coming from on the banter point, but it's a tricky one; some people who're passionate about their club can genuinely be kept from attending matches by physical disability/infirmity or financial issues (i.e. redundancy, bankruptcy, or just the familiar problem of trying to support a family on a low-paying job), and trying to get a dig in on someone like that - even if it's meant in a friendly way - is really hitting them where it hurts. Far better in my view to just leave the assumptions at the door when you sign in and debate the opinions alone.
Any road, I'm happy to leave it there; the only other thing I'd say is that as site admin and owner, Stairs will always get the final call on what is or isn't acceptable, and I'll moderate by whatever rules he lays down, so if anyone ever feels I'm being excessively harsh or censorious on a topic then give him a shout, and we'll try and work things out.
