I always remember critics of Jeff Astle saying that all he could do was head the ball, that he was useless with his feet. Some of the goals he scored though - including several in Ska'ds clip there - showed a real skill on the ground and a real ability to surprise a keeper by squeezing the ball through the smallest gap or hitting the ball - a very HEAVY ball - early. Indeed, THE FA Cup Final goal showed a dexterity that shut a lot of those critics up when he shot first with his right, the ball rebounded back and he instinctivly hit a lovely shot to win the game with his left.
A very underrated player as far as most non Baggies are concerned he may have been, but WE know just how good he was, as a player and as a man. RIP The King
