Huddersfield Town Head Coach Liam Manning has named eight changes to his starting side ahead of this evening’s home Vertu Trophy Quarter Final with Doncaster Rovers at the Accu Stadium; Tuesday 10 February 2026, 7pm kick-off.
The changes begin in goal, with January arrival Jak Alnwick handed his first Town start this evening. A permanent signing from Cardiff City, the experienced goalkeeper stepping in allows Lee Nicholls the opportunity to be rested this evening. Having both made positive impacts from the bench in midweek, there are starts out wide for Lasse Sorensen and Mickel Miller, with the pair having last started together in the 3-1 away win at Mansfield in November.
In the centre of defence, Murray Wallace will wear the armband this evening as Club captain Ryan Ledson is rested. Starting alongside Aston Villa loanee Josh Feeney, they will be joined by the returning Seán Roughan, who’s recovered from a groin injury that has ruled him out of our last seven matches in all competitions.
Across the middle, Marcus McGuane will be joined by David Kasumu in the centre of the pitch, with Leicester City loanee Will Alves operating ahead of them, who’ll be looking to put in another eye-catching performance after his goalscoring turn against Rotherham United in the last round. Ahead of them, Bobby Wales will make his first start for the Club up front, and he’ll be partnered by Alfie May, who’s eligible for this evening’s Vertu Trophy tie despite being midway through a four game suspension in Sky Bet League One.
Amongst the substitutes, it’s a first time in a match day squad for January arrival Nik Tzanev, and he’ll have Cameron Humphreys, Radinio Balker, Dion Charles, Bali Mumba and Cameron Ashia alongside him on the bench. A welcome sight for all concerned with the Club, midfielder Antony Evans is also available as a substitute this evening, recovering from a reoccurrence of a knee injury that has kept him out of action since our trip to Kenilworth Road to face Luton Town in November.
As previously confirmed, we remain without Jack Whatmough (calf) and Ryan Hardie (knee) this evening as both players continue their return to full fitness at Canalside, with Bojan Radulović (hamstring) and Joe Low (calf) remaining sidelined for an extended period.
