Colchester United have signed midfielder Romeo Akachukwu on loan from Southampton for the rest of the season.
The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international made his senior debut for Saints as a late substitute in their 5-3 Carabao Cup win at Cardiff City in August 2024.
Akachukwu, 19, has yet to play for the first team since then and the move to the Jobserve Community Stadium is his first loan spell.
He is Colchester's third January signing, following Ipswich pair Fin Barbrook and Fin Back.
The U's are 11th in League Two, seven points adrift of the play-off places.

Why should a man go to work, if he has the health and strength to stay in bed?
