Have to question why it's only an EFL initiative?
In donkeys years of being qualified (on and off) as a first aider I've only done CPR once. In the snow a few Christmas's back. He was still alive when the ambulance guys turned up and took over. Never heard anything after I left but that was my choice. I just left them to do their job. Longest 10+ minutes of my life pumping someone's chest and he was a big bloke. Rocking back and forth on someone's chest isn't always as much fun as you think it might be, and it leaves you knackered when you are done. Doesn't hurt to learn how to do it though.
Many pass away early because nobody around them knows how to do it properly. Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Staying Alive .....
