That really does sum up how terrible we are, to be honest, and have been for a good while; IMHO, our new man can't make a silk purse (... etc, etc) in 5 mins by just clicking his fingers but I'd hope that there will be noticeably more effort, pride, teamwork and togetherness shown in tonight's defeat....
Not quite, as I stated on my thread, a defeat tonight will equal our run of 11 away league defeats on the bounce set back in 1891, just 135 years ago. But who's quibbling.
It just shows how far we have sunk and is worse than our 1991 season, when we dropped down in to the third tier, our only two season outside the top two leagues in 138 years, since league football began in 1888.
Just checked our 90/91 results, our worst run of away results was six defeats, for those who weren't there, we finished the season on a run of nine games unbeaten, unfortunately 7 were draws and two were wins, we needed to win our last game at Bristol Rovers, we drew 1-1 and sunk to what is now league one for two years.
Due to the formation of the premier league, the league was reorganised and only two teams went down from division two that season, if we had beaten Rovers we would have been one of three teams on fifty points and Leicester would have gone down on account of our superior goal difference, instead, Albion being Albion, we blew it.
