Will Keane has completed a move to join Sky Bet League One side Reading on loan until the end of the season.
The 33-year-old forward made a goal scoring return to action for North End against Norwich City last month after an extended period on the sidelines with injury and is now reunited with one of his former managers, Leam Richardson.
Joining North End from Wigan Athletic in July 2023 in what was to be his second stint with the club after a loan from Manchester United in 2015/16, Keane got off to a flying start with a late equaliser on his second debut at Bristol City.
Going onto finish the 2023/24 season as the club’s top scorer with 13 goals, he scored the first goal of the Paul Heckingbottom era to secure a 1-0 win against Luton Town at Deepdale in August 2024.
In total across two spells at PNE, Keane made 95 appearances and scored 20 goals.
