With the exception of Ted Lasso, I’m not sure how many USA experienced coaches have made a successful transition into the English leagues. I appreciate Ramsay is not American and does have prior coaching experience in England, but so did Ryan Mason.
I think of the names mentioned I’d prefer Lee Carsley. Admittedly his positive track record is not in day-to-day club management but I think he’s demonstrated his ability to handle pressure. As has been previously mentioned, his style and approach seem to be very different to Ryan Mason’s. Whilst he may be hanging out for the England job, I suspect that is a few years/tournaments away and being Albion manager didn’t do Woy any harm.
However, as we are the Baggies, we’ll just have to accept whoever is appointed. Let’s face it, no appointment will be a bad as Alan Pardew
