Yet another of my comments after the game yesterday apparently went to SportsBabble heaven. There was another one earlier in the week too on another thread. Try again.
I got home just in time to see Town score, followed shortly afterwards by Lincoln equalising. Watching the replay, the Town defender (cough) marking the Lincoln player that got the first touch back across the box (Harness and Bradley?) wasn't even looking at the ball coming in from the corner. If he had been he might have had a chance of clearing it. It wasn't a header. Not sure you can blame the coach for that. That's the players decision. Likewise, May's 2nd chance for a goal. He chose to try drive it through the keeper rather than chip it over him. Didn't see the first half at all, but given they are 2nd I didn't expect them to roll over like they did in the EFL Tin Pot Trophy match either. From what I've read and the few minutes of highlights I've seen, a draw was a fair result.
Yes, we still need to be better against top 8 clubs if we are serious about going up. Doubt that we'll be replacing Grant with Maresca this side of Easter though.
PS - good to see Alves was back on the bench even if he didn't get on the pitch.
