90 minutes of absolute dross!! (Second half -v- Blues and first half today) followed by some of the best football we’ve played all season.
I really don’t know what to think.
I’ll start with RM, still not convinced he is up to the job, but at least he changed things positively, and early, and surprise surprise he was rewarded. But his initial starting line up and set up were poor. It’s been said before that Price has gone off the boil, and there was nothing to suggest that had changed in the first half, but taking him off at half time was key to the second half improvement. Mikey’s freedom to attack down the right, supported by (substitute) Campbell with the same from Grant and styles down the left completely changed the game along with the new found confidence of Heggebo.
Even Maja came on and looked like the player we know he can be.
So there were some positives, but there were still too many issues (first half) to get carried away. Griffiths for me is not good enough yet, yes some great saves but too many poor mistakes that are costing us points. We are soley reliant on the creativity coming from Mikey but there needs to be more from elsewhere, and too many are blowing hot and cold, consistency, or lack of, is a real problem.
Let’s not forget, Swansea are poor and most other team in the division would never have let us back in today.
After all that, I’m still a very happy bunny tonight and just hope we can kick on and string a few good results together. It certainly looked at the end of the game like the whole squad got a much needed shot in the arm.
