With virtually the last kick of the game North End salvaged a point after being second best for the best part of this game. Doncaster could probably count themselves very unlucky not to have gone away with three points, but Beckford's classy finish denied them the win.
Donnie dominated from the start, Razzaq forcing Johnstone into a scrambling early save. Against the run of play North End took the lead with Johnson side footing home from 18 yards after a fine team move. For a brief period of time North End dominated until running out of steam and ideas at a very early stage.
Donnie had plenty of the ball with Wellens running the game for them in midfield, but they could not a way through the well organised home defence.
The second half carried on in the same vein with a decidedly tired looking home side dropping deeper and deeper. Ten minutes from the end Donnie were level Coppinger found Forester whose pass cum shot wrong footed Johnstone.
