Let's just cancel the Honours System altogether. It wouldn't be rude to the great people who will actually deserve to be honoured as they will only compare themselves to plonkers like Beckham.
It was only a year or so ago that he was recorded as calling those who doled out the honours as "c***s" for not awarding him a knighthood, as I recall.
