Stupid idea, it is.
I thought they had it right in the beginning by including one of the bottom sides from the division above and having a two legged final.
Obviously we'll never go back to that system because every competition has to have a Wembley final nowadays.
But they have that system in Scotland and it works well. If you can't beat a team that's struggled all season that they've finished just above the relegation zone, then you don't deserve to be promoted.
