Oldham Athletic have signed striker Michael Mellon - the son of their manager Micky - on a season-long loan deal from Premier League club Burnley.
Mellon, 21, originally came through Manchester United's academy before joining the Clarets.
He is yet to make a senior appearance for Scott Parker's side, but has experienced first-team football during loan spells at Morecambe, Dundee, Stockport County and Bradford City.
His most prolific spell was with the Shrimps during the 2023-24 season in which he scored 15 goals in 27 games in all competitions.
It is the first time that he has played under his father's management.
"The opportunity to work with him is exciting, but it's about showing what I can do in front of goal," he told the club website., external
"When the opportunity came about, I knew this was the place I wanted to come and play."
Oldham boss Mellon added: "Michael has always been a goalscorer, yes he's my son, but we've brought him in to help us win games of football and that's the sole reason.
"He's physical, technically very good, and has the ability to put the ball in the back of the net."
Oldham Athletic have signed Blackburn Rovers midfielder Harley O'Grady-Macken on loan.
The 20-year-old midfielder moves to Boundary Park in a deal that runs until January.
He has made one substitute appearance in the FA Cup but he is yet to play a league game for Blackburn.
"Harley's still a young lad, but he's got a lot of potential and we're looking forward to helping him continue his development with us," said Latics manager Micky Mellon.
Oldham are currently 19th in League Two, still awaiting their first win since returning to the EFL after three years in the National League.
