Experienced defender Scott Malone has returned to Crawley Town on a one-year contract, external.
The 34-year-old, who can also play in midfield, spent eight months with the Reds but left the club to join Cambridge United in March after making three appearances.
Malone has made more than 500 appearances in the EFL for clubs including Millwall, Cardiff City, Fulham, Huddersfield Town and Derby County.
He left Cambridge in June after making eight appearances for the club and becomes Scott Lindsey's 13th summer signing.
Crawley have picked up one point from their opening five League Two matches and visit Chesterfield on Saturday.
