The sporting world wakes up from it's partial slumber this weekend, starting with the Womens's World Cup Egg Chasing at the Stadium of Light tonight as England take on USA. Don't rough the pitch up too much ladies, Town have an important match to play on Tuesday. A World record crowd expected for that one. (The Rugby, not the Town match, but I think you probably got that, right?).

The Mens and Womens US Open Tennis serves up the First Rounds at Flushing Meadows on Sunday (I had it down as Monday, but what do I know?). Qualifying games are currently being played after the exhibition mixed doubles tournament.

The British Masters gives some golfers a last chance at making the European Ryder Cup Team for September, though a chunk of them are also playing in The Tour Championship in Atlanta as part of the end of season Fedex Play-offs.

There isn't any motor sport that we're covering, but the MotoGP boys are in Hungary and IndyCar is in Milwaukee for those that are interested.

I'll update the Baseball next week when the Shale Shifters and the F1 roar back into life.
