Preston North End are delighted to announce the signing of exciting young striker Shay Reid from Cliftonville.
The highly sought-after 17-year-old has signed a two-year scholarship with the club’s Academy, which will be followed by a one-year professional contract. The club also have the option to extend by a further 12 months.
Shay – who has been the subject of interest from several clubs – has scored for fun in recent years with Cliftonville, netting more than 50 goals for their youth and reserve teams during the 2024/25 season.
The striker spent a week on trial at PNE last month and will now become a permanent part of the Academy setup over the next two years.
After joining North End, Shay said: “I’m so excited and honoured to be in this position today, signing for Preston North End.
“It’s a huge honour to be joining a club with such history, passion, and incredible supporters. I can’t wait to give everything on the pitch and make the fans proud every time I wear the shirt.
“I need to give a massive thanks to my family, previous clubs, coaches and FullNinety for the part you’ve all played in this move. I aim to make every one of you proud.”
