Would love to say this was a 9 goal thriller however one side scoring eight made it a foregone conclusion long before the end. A slightly chilly night in Longridge sawa a cup replay between the home sisde and Pilkington FC. Coming into the replay Pilkington were unbeaten and at the top end of the table. The home side were also unbeaten although a couple of places behind their visitors.
Having looked at Saturday's 2-2 draw Pilkington had made about 8 changes, work gets in the way of FA Cup replays
To add into the heady mix we had a female referee and lineswoman.
Fairly even start, with the visitors slightly the better side until the ball started going into the net. First good cross from the left Atkinson headed home, second came from a break down the left, men over Anderton made it two.
To their credit Pilkington reduced the arrears although a clear foul on the defender not given Beigan(visitors best player on the night beat the keeper in a one on one.
Soon 3-1 also thought this should have been disallowed for a foul on the keeper, again not given Atkinson again took advantage.

4-1 just after the break game over Atkinson hattrick, he got his fourth just after the hour as the visitors accepted their fate, tyhe sixth by Wignall goal of the night, fine passing move, shot from 20 plus yards, screamer, keeper didn't move, two more were added by Wignall and Dainty as the Ridge eased into the next round, where they will play Emley who once if memory served me right, played West Ham.

Why should a man go to work, if he has the health and strength to stay in bed?
