A rarity, a new non league ground to tick off, near the junction of the M55 and just the other side of the main railway line lies the home of Preston Grasshoppers Rugby Union Club, next to the first team pitch is the home of Fulwood Amateurs Football Club, newly promoted to the North West Counties, playing their first home game against Holker Old Boys.
Good club house, programme costing £1, floodlight pylons installed just lacking lights at the moment, the pitch was outstanding for this level of football as was the pitch next to it were the players warmed up before the game.
The story of the early stages the home side missed chances, the experienced Steel missed a good chance form a header early on and in general decision making also let them down. The visitors having won 5-0 the previous week looked a bit more threatening whilst attacking and duly took the lead after a move down the right wing led to an easy finish for Davey.
Home side unlucky when Lucas turned the defender with his shot hitting the bar. Just before half time the game changed for the worse for the home side. They were given a penalty, looked a harsh call, didn't matter Ball missed the penalty, within a minute it was 0-2 ball down the middle of the park, keeper comes, doesnt get ball, easy task for McGladdery to score.

Even second half, game on when Amateurs pulled a goal back, quality ball into the box into the corridir of uncertainty, Braithwaite reduces the lead.
Home side up the tempo but leave themselves open to the break, twice in quick succession Holker break down the right only to be stopped by the rustic non league tackle, the second of which led to the sending off of home player Braithwaite.
Two quick fire Holker goals by Mitchell and Hodgson ended the contest, Hodgson's coming direct from a free kick.
For the home side Bell worked his socks off however seems to have a short fuse which will get him a few cards this season, Holker's keeper Bailey was excellent caught everything
