Division One results for Matchday 1: Ritchiebaby used pre-arranged scores at the start of last season and it worked a treat. He was top of the league when he returned to the game and kept his place at the head of the table right through the season. He's doing it again. With pre-arranged 2-1 home wins, he's got this week's top score with 28 and has established a 4 point lead.
In second place is the defending champion, Baggie Bob, who won last season's league by a single point from neonfoxinthebox. He's started well with 24 points.
The other four players were not far behind. Shep is in third with 18 points. Jjamez and Neon both scored 16. But Snooty, with his ridiculous joker on a Leyton Orient win, deservedly sits at the foot of the table on 14.

Division Two results for Matchday 1: Well I never predicted Division Two would start like this. Three players absent, one of whom had tendered his resignation from the league.
Thankfully Devongone has changed his mind and hopefully will be back next week. In the meantime, despite not posting any scores, he's gone top of the league, thanks to the Random Score Generator. I think this is the first time since it's inception that we've had this many entries on the RSG, so even though it's spelled out on each of the Prediction League Matchday posts, I'll explain.
As the first name on the table, St Charles Owl gets the default of all 0-0 scores. Devon as the second name on the list gets 1-0's and Wakey as third gets 0-1's. This was great news for Dev, but poor for SCO and Wakey as ten of the twelve games ended as home wins, two were away wins and quite unusually there were no draws.
If SCO had posted some predictions, Dev would've had the 0-0's and Wakey the 1-0's. So with clocking up 26 points, Devongone has Matchday 1's highest score. But Wakey has just 4 points and SCO has none at all. Not a sausage, zilch. Bugger all. Which in a way, sums up what's been going on down at Hillsborough this summer.
Has St Charles just not realised that us lower league lot started this week? Hopefully he'll be back next week. Same too with Wakey, who was traumatised this week by a trip to the Town shop.
Of the three players who did turn up for the game this week, they all scored quite well. Themaclad is in second place with 24 points, which included an 8 point joker on the Rotherham/Port Vale game. Theo is two points behind with 22, which included two successful entries of Alfie May scoring for Huddersfield Town.
Amelia is in 4th with 18. She picked the wrong set of fixtures to predict, which isn't a problem but she gave me a right bollicking for having such a stupid way of doing things.
