Great comments. Like everyone else I've been very disappointed with Banks this season, because last season he showed such promise. I hope, with my cynical hat on, his return to form has nothing to do with the retained list.
Because I always look at the possession stats I have to say they are often at odds with the impression of every report I read and excerpt that I watch. I tend to look at them now in conjunction with shots stats on the simple grounds that, even if accurately-assessed possession without shots won't get you anywhere.
MKD battering Coventry without any reward has made Tuesday even tougher, but at least we're travelling with a win under our belts ...... and not another defeat. A draw would be a great result.
As to Lavery, and I'm Mr Anti-Loan, I did think when we signed him that it wasn't the random-looking move by the club that has often characterised us in the past, but an attempt to replace the attributes Doyle possessed. If he weren't wanted at Wednesday (and they do seem happy to be loaning out strikers, both gaolbirds and goalscorers) then he could re-build his career with us.
