I can't say I'm even slightly surprised by it.
It was never about celebrating the tournament or the global culture of football. It's a carbon copy of that last corrupt.mess in Qatar.
It was about exploiting the cheap infrastructure of Mexico and the cheap labour force within it.
The 'sponsors' of this WC are set to make ludicrous sums of money, largely off the wet backs of Pedro and Sanchez themselves!
The winner has probably already been decided at a very expensive luncheon that was payed for by the taxpayer.
