Agreed jjamez. Some of our squad know and try to play it like the team game it is, whilst some of them just turn up to sort of justify getting paid and kibosh the whole thing. They appear to put the effort in, but then ping a cross over the head of the lino on the far touchline, or hit a shot over the bar or into a scrum of legs and then jog back to defend fresh air.

You have to hope most of the latter have paid off (most of) their mortgages because clubs like Wrexham don't come along very often in the National League(s), offering League One or even Championship wages for Non-League football. There's one or two of ours that might get offers from the other two that get promoted from League One apart from Brum if they are lucky. I reckon Brum have their eyes on players higher up the pyramid for next season than anyone wearing blue and white stripes this season. Otherwise there could be a few more asking Scott High how life is down The Shay and at similar clubs earning something a lot closer to the National Living Wage. Oh, and don't forget those two on loan in furrin lands that are too good for League One football who are also "loyal to the club" (cough).
