Nice one Snoots. I was just thinking that Sid James's Other Park once looked a bit posh, then realised, it wasn't Sid James's Other Park. Still, the services on the M5 just before it becomes the A38 aren't too bad, though there might be a van next door on Wickes's car park selling better and cheaper grub and er, um, yeah, apart from that, ...... Exeter.

Not hard to work out why the Romans left it to us to sort out. Not on the coast, too far from Bath for a Bath although they apparently had one that they downsized. Labour/Lib Dem councils, you know how that works. Nigelus Faragicus would have campaigned to close it and send all those Romans home on the next Egyptian Trimarene that heaved to in Plymerethicus Hoelicus. Escanceaster as the Romans called it didn't have a lead mine for miles to make a decent pig from, let alone a bowls green where you could plot to sink the Spaniards, but apparently there was a thriving tile market. What did the Romans ever do for us in Exeter, really? Underfloor heated tiles and fancy mosaics you say ..... yes please. That would keep my tootsies warm in winter without wearing socks in my sandals.

Apparently, Plymerethicus Hoeicus was actually called Sutton when the Romans were in town. No, sorry, not buying that one.
